A Breeze
It
blew in one day
Filling up my life
And I was powerless
Against its strife.
It
cooled the sweat
Upon my skin
So I opened my heart
And let it in.
Some
days it
Warmed my bones
On other days
It left me cold and alone.
If
were any stronger
It would be a wind
Like love becomes a lover
And a lover becomes a friend.
It's
so mild I can't tell
If it blows East or West
Though, I licked my finger
And tried my best.
Words
whispered here
Seem to be lost,
As particles of dust
That have been tossed.
I
know when it's gone
It will be missed,
Like the lips of a lover
Never kissed.
And
when it's gone
I'll wish it were here.
But, I can't expect this breeze
To last year after year.
